Steel Mezzanine Floor
Structural steel comprises 90% of our steel mezzanine floor, the only other material used is pine shutterply deck. However, you could opt for a steel deck too. Other steel parts include the hand rail, which comes galvanized and the stair case which comes painted enamel grey with “Vastrap” treads and at a 40 degree angle. Staircases also come with the option of a landing thereby giving you a more user friendly solution.
The only component of our steel mezzanine floor which is not steel is the deck which usually comprises of 21 shutter-ply deck. This is most cost effective however there are other options for the more discerning buyer such as checker plate deck. Checker plate deck is a steel deck which is more hard wearing than shutterply wood and moreover it is more suitable where fire is a concern. A mezzanine with a purpose of storing flammable material would benefit from a steel deck as opposed to a combustible wooden deck. The “vastrap” deck has the added benefit of being non-slip. “Vastrap” decks are available in galvanized, painted or stainless steel.
Steel open grid deck
Perforated metal in the form of plates give you the open grid deck finish. We weld together these plates in our workshop to form a seamless floor which we bolt to the steel mezzanine floor. The open grid steel deck comes galvanized and is 50mm thick and as such is highly durable.
Steel mezzanine grating decking
The last option for steel decks is the grating option which is made by welding flat bar and round bar together to form a sheet of 1200 x 2400mm. These sheets are then assembled on site and are also galvanized and non slip
