Racking Mezzanine Floor

Need shelving space underneath your mezzanine floor? A racking mezzanine floor will solve this problem which consists of mezzanine deck built on top of a racking system. Made from various standard size steel end frames and beams, the rack components simply clip together. Locking pins secure them in place and bolts ensure the structure is securely fastened to the floor. Depending on the load you wish to carry, frames come in different grades and beams in different thicknesses. Loads very from 200kg’s per shelf to more than 2 tons. Steel or timber finishes off the deck. Hand pack items with ease on to the racking.

The mezzanine deck itself can be either steel or timber . Steel beams are used to support a steel deck and timber beams will be used to carry a timber deck. The timber beams cannot span the long length that the steel beams can but is ideal for this application. The passageways between the racking are normally not more than a metre. The is a cost saving as the timber beams are more cost effective over short distances than steel beams. When using the racking mezzanine system it is easy to create a double deck mezz floor. The racking would simply continue up on a higher frame and at the level of the first deck you would need to cut around the frame uprights

With this racking system we would use our standard industrial steel staircase with checker plate or “Vastrap” treads in enamel finish. Our standard handrail is the galvanized hand and knee rail which is used on the staircase as well on the mezzanine floor. To summarize, our racking mezzanine floor gives clients double duty when it comes to space. The support columns act as storage thereby maximizing your structure and money spend. See our Mezzanine Pallet Gate for more storage solutions as well as Mittal for structural steel supplies.
